The Third Jewel of the Triple Crown will be run today. Due to a leg injury I’ll Have Another won’t be racing, but to show it was not a catastrophic injury, he will be leading the Belmont field to post in the 1 1/2 mile classic. Dullahan, third in the Kentucky Derby, has been installed as the new favorite at 9-5 and Union Rags is the second choice at 3-1. The speedy Paynter will try to wire the field and is considered the third pick at 7-2 in what is called “The Test of Champions.”
River Downs is featuring an upscale New York Style Buffet in the Upper Clubhouse. Nick's Shanty will be smoking up the grill with their new Rib-Eye Steak and BBQ Flank Steak with Cole Slaw and Pineapple sandwiches. Some tables at the Tiki Bar and spots along the rail for Tailgating are still available, but filling fast. Call 513-354-8296 for reservations.
Admission and box seats in the grandstand are free - on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is free general parking on the east end of the grandstand (except for the reserved Tailgating area).
Live racing with nine races will start at River Downs at 1:30 p.m. on Belmont Day and the gates will open early at 10:30 a.m.
