The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has launched a special website highlighting ten star horses expected to compete on Super Saturday, October 1, comprising six graded stakes races worth $2.7 million in purses at Belmont Park.
The site, located online at www.nyra.com/supersaturday provides detailed information, including photos, race replays, quotes, and past performances on the following Super Saturday contenders:
• Big Drama (Grade 1, $350,000 Vosburgh)
• Cape Blanco (Grade 1, $500,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic)
• Havre de Grace (Grade 1, $350,000 Beldame)
• Jackson Bend (Grade 2, $250,000 Kelso)
• Royal Delta (Grade 1, $350,000 Beldame)
• Stacelita (Grade 1, $500,000 Flower Bowl)
• Stay Thirsty (Grade 1, $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup)
• Trappe Shot (Grade 1, $350,000 Vosburgh)
• Uncle Mo (Grade 2, $250,000 Kelso)
• Winchester (Grade 1, $500,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic)
In 2010, five horses that competed on Super Saturday went on to finish top three in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, including Blame, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Classic, Unrivaled Belle, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic, and Shared Account, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
It will be a Super Saturday throughout the country!
