Official Rules for the “HORSE
PLAYER WORLD SERIES” qualifying round. The finals will be held in Las Vegas
2009 at The Orleans Hotel and Casino. The qualifiers have an opportunity to
play for $1,000,000.00 in cash and prizes.
- There
will be an entry fee of $150
you may have up to three entries per player.
The contest is based on a $2 win and $2 place format with a 20-1 cap for
win, and 10-1 for place payouts. Your wagers will be $2 to win and place
on the same horse.
- The
overall/total prize payout will be based on number of entries. We will cap
the total number of entries at 400. The cash payout will be determined the
day of the contest by management.
- The
contest will be based on 12 mandatory races. The contest will be a one-day
contest on 8/10/08. The
top three finishers will qualify for the HPWS contest to be held in Las
Vegas.
- The
contest races will be from: New York, Kentucky, Chicago and races from
River Downs. There will be a cap total of 400 entries for this contest.
- Gates
will open at 11:00 for contest players only in the clubhouse. We will have
check-in from 11:00 –1:30 for contest players. Players registered on a
first-come, first-served basis.
- Early
bird entries will be accepted one month prior to the contest. If you enter
before this deadline, you will be eligible for special prizes the day of
the contest. The Early bird deadline to enter is 7/17/08. Checks
and money orders must be made out to River Downs. Please do not mail cash
payments. You may come by the office and sign up in person, or may do so
the day of the contest. Be sure to secure your entry by entering early.
- You
must select a runner in each of the mandatory races. If you fail to select
a runner, then you will receive no points for that race. PLEASE WAGER
EARLY TO AVOID BEING SHUTOUT.
- All
scratches and changes will be available at the contest table. There will
also be a schedule of the mandatory races and their post times. We will
also make announcements throughout the day reminding players of upcoming
races.
- In the
event of a track or race cancellation, management will select another
race, and it will be made known to all players with ample time to handicap.
In the event of track cancellation, management will select another track
to be used by all players. Management decision is final and binding to all
players.
- In the
event of tie. The following rules will be applied to break the tie. (1)
The total number of winners on the day. (2) The highest single race
payoff. (3) If there is still a tie after examining the following
information, the tied players will shake dice to break the tie. You
will need to keep all tickets, and if you have multiple accounts it is
your responsibility to keep entries separated.
- In the
event of a power outage, the contest will be finished the next available
day of racing. Or, if there have been 6 or more races run,
then we will take scores and determine winners from this data.
- If you
have any questions about the contest, your entries, or format please visit
the contest table.
- All
race results will posted at the registration table during the day.
- If you
are an owner or trainer who has a runner in a selected race, you may not
enter the contest. NO employees are allowed to participate in the
contest.
- If
you have already qualified as a player for the HPWS contest at another
site, you may play for prize money only. The next player who finishes 4th
will qualify as a player in this event.
You must inform the registration table upon entering.
- You
are responsible for the timely placement of all of your wagers. Please
make your wagers early. It is your responsibility to wager, or if you have
a late scratch you will receive the post time favorite. It is your responsibility to hold
all of your tickets to verify any questions, and if you have multiple
accounts, please keep them separated.
- In
the event of a Tote malfunction or electrical malfunction. The player will
automatically receive the post time win pool favorite. This only
applies to players who have not already placed a wager and were shut
out due to these unforeseen circumstances.
- All
decisions of management are final and binding to all participants. Management
has the right to exclude anyone from playing in the contest for any
reason. Management also reserves the right to change and or alter any
rules as seen fit. Management has the right to cancel and refund
monies for the contest if there are unforeseen problems or decisions
of management.
